Competitive package

humyo.com is the leading online data storage service in Europe, we make it easy to securely sync, share and access your files from anywhere. We’re looking for a clever, motivated, Software Developer to join our team.

Exciting areas of SmartDrive development include further improving the algorithms we use to minimise the data we need to transfer by de-duplicating files and transferring only the changed elements of them, peer-to-peer data transfers and increasing concurrency in network operations.

To succeed in this role you must have the following skill set:

  • Good degree in computer science, mathematics or similar
  • Evidence of strong ability to think abstractly
  • Experience with a compiled programming language influenced by C such as C++, C# or ObjC

Skills in any of the following would be beneficial to your application:

Our office is in central Leeds, moments away from the railway station with parks, shops and bars all close by.

To apply, please send your CV together with your current salary to jobs@humyo.com. You might also send us a tweet, we’re looking forward to hearing from you.

Recruiters

We'd be delighted for you to work on filling our roles for us. We get lots of interest in them from recruiters so have a standard basis on which we will start working with you:

  • You'll search your database and your network for suitable candidates. You won't however advertise our role – we already have agreements in place which we are happy with for the advertising of our roles.
  • We'll pay you 7.5% of the annual starting salary of any successful candidate you introduce us to.
  • You'll send us your invoice on the candidate's start date, we'll pay you 30 days later. If you'd like us to pay you sooner, please take 1% off the fee above for each week earlier you'd like paying.
  • You'll provide us with a 12 week rebate period.

To start working with us, you'll send us the CV(s) of your best candidate for the role to the e-mail address specified above:

  • We find this the best way to assess our compatibility with you, rather than you telling us about yourself, your company's skills and experience.
  • Please do this on the basis of the description for the role above which we regard as sufficient for you to get very close to what we're looking for.
  • It's not possible to have a telephone call before you send us the first CV.
  • It's not possible for us to review or execute your terms of business until we've seen your first CV – you'll have to trust us with that one!
  • If the first CV you send us is promising, we'll be happy to discuss the role, review your terms of business and to engage with you more. Please however note that these points will not become open for negotiation.

We look forward to working with you on the above basis and look forward to hearing from you.

Should you not feel that you can work on this basis we do respect your decision. In return, we ask you to respect our decision to run our business as we feel best. Please refrain from contacting us to negotiate any of the above points (they're not open for negotiation) – even if you're a specialist IT recruiter, have 15 years experience, have the perfect/best-you've-seen-in-50-years candidate sat in front of you right now!
